Katie Couric often presents some very complicated issues in plain language for an average person like myself to understand. Her video clips are always a source of information amidst controversy and helps me to understand what exactly that controversy is all about. I think her interviews and presentations of world issues can facilitate classroom discussions about world events and teach students to express their own world views in simple to understand language.

In this interview with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Katie asks about Ginsburg's relationship with Justice Scalia, how she felt about the senate's refusal to fill the seat in the Court with the passing of Scalia, and her thoughts about a woman running for the presidency. Ginsburg discusses a good many topics with Katie including Ginsburg's sensitivity to discrimination and her pride in America because it is a country open to diversity, reiterating the first Amendment right for people to express their beliefs. An interview with Justice Ginsburg is one well worth watching for teachers and students alike.
